Why state results differ
State rankings can reveal regional patterns that national rankings hide. A name may be highly ranked in one state and much less common elsewhere.
The SSA omits state-level counts below five, so an absent row does not prove that no babies received the name. Compare states within the same year and category for the clearest result.
